The Chronicles Vlog 2016 #8 (Part 5): Gridlife South 2016...

August is not only the hottest month of the year for us, but also possibly the busiest. Wekfest San Jose 2016 had just taken place at the end of July, but not two weeks later, I was already off to the East Coast to attend the Wekfest New Jersey event. This time around, Tiffanie Marie and I were the only ones to make the trip with the Wekfest staff. This Vlog series documents our adventures to NY/NJ for Wekfest, the Nitto Tire Auto Enthusiasts Day back in California, and for the first time ever, we head to Atlanta, Georgia to check out the Gridlife event...

Atlanta is a destination that I've long wanted to go to... It's one of those major states that have always been on my map of destinations to attend so when I was presented with the opportunity to go, I was all for it. I attended a Gridlife event last year in Chicago and met the creator, Chris Stewart, and we got to talking about me attending more Gridlife events. I wasn't too familiar with it but after going to the Chicago event, the series definitely peaked my interest. Months later, while in Las Vegas, NV for SEMA, I ran into Chris again and he invited me out to the Atlanta Gridlife event in 2016. This was supposed to be his biggest event yet and he wanted to make sure he had all the right people out there to cover it. I mentioned that maybe we should bring Yuta Akaishi out there as well so he could possibly drive at Road Atlanta where the event was taking place. There was a chance one of his cars would be finished so we would work out a way to transport the car out there as well. Things happened, business and personal, that didn't allow Yuta to get a car running for the event but Chris still offered to fly us out to Georgia to experience Gridlife...

For those that don't know, Gridlife is a multi-day festival that consists of a car show, time attack, drifting, and in the evenings, there would be different musical acts performing on stage. It has a little bit of everything and them bringing the event to the South was intriguing. It was a new audience for Gridlife, and it gave the people in that area an opportunity to see a full-on automotive festival-style event. Tiffanie had never been to Georgia either so she came along for the ride to experience Gridlife with us. This is a two-part video which covers what we saw that weekend. We landed in Georgia on a Thursday and left the following Monday. What you're going to see are bits and pieces of what we experienced during those days. Enjoy all the variety that Gridlife South had to offer from a personal-side of things...
