The purpose is to show a comparison between 120km/h and 140 km/h collision speed on the motorway. The kinetic energy with 140 km/h is 36% higher than with 120 km/h. The Nissan was driven frontally into the rear of the Renault with full overlap and an angle of 90°. Firstly, at a speed of 120 km/h (Test 211) and then at 140 km/h (Test 212).

Results 120 km/h:
Airbag retrofitted in Nissan deployed
Bonnet of the Nissan strongly deformed

Trunk of the Renault heavily compressed
Rear seat of the Renault pushed forward, legs would be jammed
Fenders pressed outwards
After the impact time of 122 ms the Renault had a delta speed of 60.5 km/h.

Results 140 km/h:

Passenger compartment Nissan collapsed
Bonnet of the Nissan strongly deformed

Trunk of the Renault heavily compressed
