Police Dash Cam Stolen Minivan Rams Cars in Brooklyn Police Chase

Added by AutomotiveUploads
Brooklyn, Ohio - Dashboard camera video released Monday shows a minivan ramming several other vehicles during a police chase in Brooklyn.

Investigators are trying to identity the driver who ran from a stolen Chrysler Town & Country after the Sunday chase that began on Interstate 480 and ended on State Road, police said in a news release.

No one was hurt after the minivan crashed into four other cars while turning onto State Road, police said.

A Brooklyn police officer tried to stop the minivan at 3:42 p.m. when he spotted it traveling 94 mph on I-480 east near Tiedeman Road, police said. The driver weaved through traffic, dashboard camera video shows.

The driver got off the highway at the State Road exit and rammed several cars waiting to turn onto State Road, the video shows. The crash damaged one of the minivan's front tires, and the driver veered toward oncoming traffic before he stopped the minivan by Burger Avenue.

Investigators also released body camera video that shows the officer chasing the driver on Burger Avenue. The video does not show the driver, and the officer loses sight of him on Burger Avenue, the officer says in the video.

The Town & Country was reported stolen from Cleveland an hour before the chase, police said. Its license plate was stolen days earlier in Cleveland, police said.
