Bringing my 2003 Jaguar S-Type 4.2 V8 Sport back to life. On day 29, I manage to detach the crankshaft pulley, the timing chains & guides, the variable valve timing assemblies and finally all 4 camshafts.

Every day I´m working on this restoration is summarized in a separate video. To stay in the loop consider subscribing:

About this Car Project
I purchased my 2003 Jaguar S-Type 4.2 V8 Sport used at around 50k miles, put another 100k miles on it, and it always served me well.
In 2013 some expensive repairs had been necessary to get my car through the annual inspection mandatory here in Austria. I decided against investing money and instead went for another car (my 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class). Nevertheless, I kept the Jaguar and promised myself that some day I would start a full rebuild to bring it back to life again.
That day was August 31, 2019. After my S-Type had been abandoned more than 6 years, I rented a garage and ever since try to work at least once a week on this restoration project.
The disassembly/ rebuild is done by myself without any professional support. To sort of proof that a "paper pusher" (as I am) can achieve this alone, I decided against just uploading a compilation of the most exciting moments or interim results, but instead try to get the whole process on camera in real time, although using time lapse to keep it more or less endurable for you, my audience.
Once the project is accomplished (I sincerely hope, it will be one day...), this video series may serve as a kind of step by step tutorial on rebuilding a Jaguar S-Type on your own.

My content ist for entertainment only an doesn´t pursue educational purposes. Servicing a car yourself can result in loss of rights, injury or even death and therefore is reserved for licensed workshops. As I am not such a professional, any responsibility or liability is excluded.
