9 Second Hand-Controlled CTS-V !!! - Vengeance Racing

Bryan Hart’s journey of modifying his CTS-V has been a long one that has taken many steps over the years, but has now developed into a monster daily-driven setup making well over 800rwhp and easily making 9-second ET ¼ mile passes. Bryan came to us with a completely stock CTS-V to start modifying making just a basic 470rwhp on our dyno the first time that he arrived. His goal at the time was to get into the 600+ range with simple bolt-ons and have a very capable street car. We started with our standard Stage I package using just an upper pulley and #AirRaid intake to make 540rwhp, however that was definitely not enough and the itch for more power grew stronger as time went on.

The next round of modifications included a set of American Racing longtube headers and an E85 flex fuel conversion netting a 620rwhp final number achieving his initial goals. Bryan raced on this combination for a while and featured the car at local shows/events, but again the bug for more power was ever present and the car was soon back on our lift for what was to be a big jump in performance. This next setup essentially placed him into a hybrid Stage 5 combination featuring our CNC ported LSA cylinder heads, VRPD-2 camshaft kit, ATI balancer and lower pulley, Nick Williams 102mm throttle body with a ported supercharger/snout, and a Zl1 lid. With all of these modifications complete the car was making 730rwhp with a wicked lope from the camshaft.

After having this combination installed for quite a while compared to his other phases of the build, Bryan came to us for one last big upgrade having a goal of 800+rwhp, 9-second ET’s, and well into the 160+mph range in the ½ mile. While we likely could have achieved this with the stock supercharger, however Bryan wanted to be a bit different than your typical build and decided on going to the #Magnuson Superchargers 2.3L supercharger system as the root of this performance upgrade. We also installed our 5” cold air intake system, trunk mounted ice tank, and an #AlkyControl methanol injection system to eventually break over 830rwhp from this stock bottom-end LSA engine!!

After this last performance upgrade, Bryan took the car to the track to eventually run his 9-second ¼ mile pass, and recently hit 168mph in the standing ½ mile at the @SpeedAddicts inaugural event on his very first pass with the combination! Bryan’s car is equipped with a full hand control system as well that works flawlessly both on the street and track and he would like to thank #AMS-Vans and #Suregrip hand controls for assisting him in being able to control the 800+rwhp from this CTS-V with ease. Bryan is definitely not done modifying the car and we look forward to pushing the combination even further over the coming race seasons!
