1974 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ43 Restoration Project

One of our favorite builds of all time, this FJ43 Classic was commissioned by a diehard Land Cruiser enthusiast who lives between Saudi Arabia and San Diego, California. Although the car’s original color was orange, he requested a white Land Cruiser with a saddle vinyl interior, a color combination we definitely stand behind.

The Land Cruiser was hand-built according to the owner’s specifications, combining elements he admired from different FJ models. The original body was refinished and painted in white with a rounded beige front grille and features early-style side mirrors and turn signals. The white paint of interior creates a striking contrast with the saddle vinyl upholstery and beige soft top. To give it a rugged feel, the car was built on 33" Mud-Terrain BFGoodrich® tires (logos are deliberately facing outwards) using an Old Man Emu suspension with two inches of lift —new or zinc plated bolts throughout were left exposed. The absence of hubcaps is one choice only a diehard would make, and we love it!

In terms of driving comfort and safety features, we built the vehicle using a 4-speed manual transmission, front disc brakes, and LED headlights. Apart from that, the vehicle is mostly stock, including the rebuilt Toyota F engine, staying true to the authenticity and ruggedness of the FJ Land Cruiser.
